Breakfast For The Masses....
Okay. I have got to wake up.... It is almost 10 am, and I'm still feeling very sleepy! Big A had a friend spend the night last night... and, of course, they stayed up pretty late. They also woke up very early. No surprise there! But I stayed in bed until 9:00. Although, I was constantly being bothered by complaints of "We're hungry!", "We're starving...", etc. I simply chose to ignore them and tell them to wait. :) As I was dozing, I thought of my Mom and how she most likely would have gotten up to make them eggs, bacon, and french toast. That would be an ideal breakfast for these cute, growing children... But, when I finally did get up to feed the masses, I chose to feed them sausage wrapped in pancake on a stick ( 3 minutes in the microwave to heat them up) and a piece of Russian cheese! Okay, so I maybe I don't get the award for being the best Mommy this morning, but the thought of making a large, hot breakfast actually turns my stomach. I simply don't like to cook. I don't like taking the time to do it. I don't like the mess it makes. I just don't like it. I wonder why. I love eating a large breakfast, but I guess I'll just have to stick to going to the occasional restaurant. Or wait till Nana comes to visit.... No wonder they like when they get to spend the night with Pixie--- she always makes a nice breakfast for them... Oh well, I guess I fall short in this aspect of Motherly duties... hopefully, I can make it up somewhere else! :) Regardless of the quality of the breakfast, the kiddo's tummies seem to be satisfied-- they are now quietly watching a movie on the computer. And I am able to sit here drinking coffee in an attempt to wake up. It is going to be another busy day...
