Awards Day....

I haven't had a change to talk about the end of the year activities at the kids' school.  Nana came down for a visit last week and went to see Little A perform on stage with her class.  The Pre-K had a big end of the year celebration and got little diplomas and awards.  They all got up on stage and sang several songs.... it was sooo cute.   Pixie was also  there to capture the moment on film.  The next day the awards ceremony for Big A's class.  She got to have a speaking role at the beginning of the ceremony... also very cute!  Big A got Honor Roll!!!  I was so proud!  Her first award!  Aw, my baby is growing up!  Poor little D didn't get an awards ceremony... not because he didn't deserve any honors, but because Kindergarten doesn't do that sort of thing.  Too bad, because he definitely deserves an award for working so hard this year!  He is now starting to sound out words and read!!!  And that is very very cool!! 

Happy Summer....

Today was nice.  I was off work and had big plans to get things done around the house... but as usual, I got side tracked.  I spent the better part of the day playing with kids outside.  I have to admit, it was fun though.  They had a great time-- riding bikes, swimming in the pool, building (and destroying) things, and just running around, getting dirty.  I could have concentrated more on the housework, the yard work, and the planning for the beach trip, but I didn't.  Instead I played and watched them play, and refereed arguments, and chased dogs.   It was definitely more entertaining than folding laundry and mowing the lawn....  Now, however, I am EXHAUSTED.  I have noticed that once the sun goes down, I am pretty much worthless.  It has been this way for quite sometime... no sun, no productivity.  Probably the two margaritas I had at dinner haven't helped much either.  I will, however, do my best to get something done tonight.... although, I am not exactly sure what that something is....  I do love summer vacation though.  Even if I don't actually get to take the summer off, it is nice to see how happy the kids are that school is finally out.  I just can't wait until next week.... leaving Atlanta for a WHOLE week!!!!!  Yippeee!!!!   I wish it was longer...  I am ready to bounce.....

Catching Up.....

The last few weeks have been a blur.  I never seem to have the time or energy to actually sit down and write about what has been going on with the kids.  Not having internet for a week didn't help either.  My wireless connection still has much to be desired.  I keep going offline..... and I am NOT happy about it.  I got rid of AT&T for this very reason.  I guess I will call Comcast at some point if it keeps happening...

Things have been good here lately D finally had his birthday party this past weekend.  Thank God I had Pixie to help me get things together around the house.  The party was very last minute, but I think it turned out well.  D was happy anyway and that's all that counts.  The kids also finished up with soccer--- thankfully.  This season left much to be desired.  Putting all 3 on the Sunday league was not the best idea.  I spent most of my Sundays at the soccer field.   The fact that we missed the majority of the games for various reasons didn't help either.   But at least they all got their little trophies/metals at the end.   I hope next season is better.  I usually really enjoy soccer season.

I AM still here....  no time to write just yet.   I fully intend to write something, anything tonight..... But at this very moment I MUST get to work......  Cleaning sucks.  :(
