At last I am posting again. I got caught up in the last few weeks with life and haven't really been on the computer much... Let's see what can I say about January. It has been kind of a blur..... what with getting ready for Big A's birthday and all of us
getting sick with a stomach bug, time has flown by....
New years eve was really nice...very laid back. The Pixie, the kids and I had a little party at home. We ate finger foods, listened to music and shot off some fireworks. The kids had a blast! It was a great way to start 2010--- surrounded by the ones I love!!!
On New Years Day, my Brother and his family came down for a visit... The kids loved seeing their cousins! New Years night we had a little party--- a couple we met camping in October came over with their 2 kids and we ate, drank and made merry!! That night, in my small house were 6 adults and 10 kids running
amok! We adults got quite tipsy, and the kids had a ball! I thought Pixie might have a heart attack when she looked up and saw 10 little children chasing each other around the house with machine guns and pistols..... She is typically against giving children toy guns to play with, but she was a good sport about it! Her son was in heaven!!! I think he really liked the cousins! Later we shot of some more fireworks--- although the big boys complained that they were kind of lame.... still it was fun.... And, surprisingly, my house did not even get trashed. What a fun night!!! Although, I was a bit hung over the next morning....
Big A's Birthday was very nice. On the actual day, we had a little family party. She chose tacos as her birthday meal--- again. And Pixie made a her famous bean tacos!!! Yum!!! She also made Big A a most excellent cake!!! Big A's actual party was held last weekend... She had a slumber party... a first for both of us! My Mom came down from
Greenville to visit the weekend of the party, and Pixie stayed to help me, of course! The party went very well... that is until about 3:40 am, when one of the party guests woke up an vomited all over Big A!!! Poor little girl... she was so sick. I called her parents to come get her, and woke Big A up to shower and change her... Amazingly, Big A was so out of it that she didn't freak out as bad as I thought she would!!! Needless to say, I got the stomach bug, Pixie got it as well.... and so did my Mom. The other girl spending the night got sick a few days later as well. The only one that did not get sick was Big A!!!! Go figure! Anyway... that stomach bug sucked!!!!!!!! Very much!!!
