More Adventures With Mookie!!!

Yet again, I have been slack about writing. I have just been too tired at night. Work is picking up, which is a good thing, but, as a result, I am exhausted. I still don't think I've completely gotten over the bug I had a couple of weeks ago. This weekend was filled with kid activities -- Big A and D had a dance at the school and all the kids had soccer. Little A had her first soccer practice/game of the season on Sunday. She had a lot of fun until she go hungry and pitched a fit about not getting a snack! That girl can really eat!!! Mookie also came home with us again for the weekend (that is the class monkey). So he got to have a couple of adventures--unfortunately h got lost for a while under Little A's bed. All in all it was a good weekend.

More Tooth Fairy Adventures...

On Sunday, D finally got wish.... He lost his First Tooth!!! He was so proud. I'm not sure it was actually ready to come out though... he knocked it on the chair and it bled profusely! That didn't bother him one bit though. That night, he carefully placed his tooth under the pillow for the Tooth Fairy. Unfortunately the Tooth Fairy was feeling very sick and was not prepared... Luckily, the Tooth Fairy's Mom was in town and had some cash on hand to save the day!!! Th Tooth Fairy also managed to come up with a little surprise toy for him to find under his pillow... so the next morning all was good!!!

Back From The Dead...

What a terrible week it has been. I feel like I am coming out of my fog though-- slowly, but surely... We have all been so sick this week. It started on Wednesday. I was working at a hospital out of town, and I got a call from D's school nurse saying that he had a fever of 103.3. I was shocked because he had been fine that morning. Because I was so far away, I started calling around to see if I could get a friend to pick him up. Fortunately, my friend Annie was available and agreed to pick him up from school for me. Before she even got to the school, though, the nurse called back to say his temp was now 105 and asked for permission to give Motrin! A few minutes later she called back to say his temp was now 106!!! Annie got to the school just about that time and told me that he was really not looking good-- crying and moaning, and not really responding well. I told her to take him to the hospital and I would meet her there. It took me almost 2 hours to get to get there!!! Traffic was terrible. Fortunately, his fever was coming down by the time he got to the hospital. They did chest xrays and a flu test, but that was about it. I wasn't too pleased with our hospital visit.... Sheila picked up the girls for me, and fed them while we were at the hospital.

Thursday, I took poor D to work with me--- he slept most of the day. I began feeling really awful and started running a fever myself. Thursday afternoon, the aftercare program called to say that Big A had a fever as well!! By Friday, my fever was 103, Big A was sick and running a low grade fever, and D was still feeling rough around the edges... We all suffered through a day at work though. I was Miserable. The kids watched movies and slept on their bean bags at the vet hospital. I slept on the xray table between clients... Not a good day at all. By Saturday, the kids were feeling better, but I couldn't even get out of bed. My poor Mom had to come down to take care of the kids because I was so out of it. The entire weekend was pretty much a blur. I'm still coughing up my lungs and extremely congested, but I'm getting better... I really hate to be sick.... Yuck!

Our Weekend Adventures....

We had a really fun weekend. Friday night, we went over to Kim's house. The kids (there were 6 of them!!) ate pizza and destroyed her house, and the adults drank wine!!! Maybe that's why we let them destroy the house.

On Saturday, I took the kids up to Greenville to visit my brother and his family. My Mom agreed to babysit all 7 cousins, so we could go out. My Brother, Sister-In-Law, and I went downtown to have sushi and hit a couple of bars.... Gabe didn't last too long. He headed home around 11pm.... Sherri and I, however, stayed out for quite a while.... All I can say is that I am definitely too old to party-- I was hurting the next day! But it was fun.

Sunday, the kids had a great time playing in Gabe's back yard--- gotta love this weather. We met my friend Mike, his wife, and daughter for lunch. It was good to catch up. Then we headed back home. Unfortunately, Little A puked her guts up on the trip back.... Never much fun. I have got to remember to give her Dramamine before trips!!! Other than the vomit, it was a great trip!!!

Snow Day 2009!!! aka The Post That Wouldn't Post....

Holy Moly!!! This post just does not want to get published!!! Since Monday I have tried 3 times to upload photos and twice to write the blog---all 5 times the damn computer wouldn't save it and I lost everything. So I give up.... I am not going to write about our snow days in Atlanta. You can view the photos... enough said. :) Let's hope it works this time!!!!
