It has been a hot and busy couple of days.... Yesterday the kids tagged along on a couple morning house calls with me, then we all went to the park for the Birthday Party for one of Big A's friends. They had a great time. After the party, we went to Target to get some school supplies. This is the "tax free" weekend--so the store was packed. We braved the crowds and got out of there just in time for a huge thunderstorm to hit. About 20 minutes after we got home, the power went out. Normally, this wouldn't be such a big deal, but D is
extremely afraid of thunderstorms and the dark... He stuck to me like glue while I got the candles lit and made sandwiches for dinner. I have never seen a kid so frightened of storms before. I tried to comfort him and tell him everything would be okay, but he just trembled in terror the entire time... I finally got all of them to sleep, then went out into the living rooms to wait until the power came back on. Of course, I passed out on the couch and woke up at 4:30 am to find all the lights on throughout the house...
Today I woke up with a splitting headache-- that lasted most of the day. I managed to get the children out of the house to do some more school shopping, but that was about it. I have been trying to get a cold for the last few days, I guess it has caught up with me... Hopefully, I'll feel better tomorrow and be more productive. I definitely need to catch up n my call backs tomorrow. I was planning to call some people back yesterday, but the day was just too busy, and today I felt horrible. I can't put it off any longer, tomorrow I have got to get back to work...
Below are some photos from the party...
