I drove my Kindergartners to the school, and walked them in. The room was all set up and inviting-- much better than at Open House. They found their names on the tables and got all set up with their pencil bags and crayons. It was very cute. Of course I brought the camera to document my children's first day in Elementary School. I was really concerned about D being so behind, but the Teacher assured me that he would be fine... So Little A and I left them to begin their education...
When I picked them up in the afternoon, the Teacher said that they both did very well. She was so surprised at how much English D speaks. It is amazing how incredibly fast he is learning English! He really is like a sponge--he repeats everything he hears and remembers it! I wish that I had that capacity to learn foreign languages. It is quite shocking. People had told me that he would learn English with no problem, but you have to see it to believe it. Still, I find it sad that he is not retaining his Russian. When I ask him to speak Russian, he says, "No, Ya no like it!" And that is that. He flat out refuses.
Little A also did very well in her new class. She went to the potty all day and did not have any accidents. She says she likes the Octopii Class, but she was really happy to get her "Paccie" when we got out to the car... That habit is going to be really, really hard to break---sort of like me and my Nicotine Gum! :)
Below are some photos of my Big Kids on their first day of school!!!
Are Ready To Go!!!
