We all slept late this morning ( something that rarely happens in our house!). When Big A finally woke up, she quickly checked under her pillow to see if the Tooth Fairy had come. She let out an excited squeal " the Tooth Fairy came, and she took my tooth and brought me a Tooth Fairy doll and a dollar!" I came to inspect the surprise-- I told her that actually that was a Five Dollar bill! She was impressed at being so "rich". I told her that the Tooth Fairy always brings more money for the first tooth because it is special. From now on she will probably get a dollar for each tooth.
Back when I was a kid, I got a dollar for the first tooth, and a quarter after that. Inflation has really changed things!!

Now Big A is busy decorating her little tooth fairy doll-- she has added a purple feather to her hair, as well as a crown! She tells me she will be a fashion designer when she grows up. I'm still hoping for medical school!
